My Favorite Snack: Marshmallow
What's your favorite snack? Donuts? Chocolate? Or the same as me, marshmallow?
Marshmallow is a sugar-based candy or type of sweet that in its modern form typically consists of sugar, water and gelatin whipped to a spongy consistency, molded into small cylindrical pieces, and coated with corn starch.
The word marshmallow came from the mallow plant that came from Europe, North Africa, and Asia. The word "marsh" is used because the mallow plant grows in marshes and other damp areas. We don't know the exact date of when the marshmallow was invented , but the history goes back as early as 2000 B.C when ancient Egypt first began to made marshmallow. At that time, marshmallow was reserved to gods and the pharaoh or the
important people. Sometimes it was also used for medicine for throats at that time in Egypt.
Then the marshmallow went to France and was named:Pâté de Guimauve.
By the early 1900s, marshmallows were introduced to the United States and were sold in tins. After the marshmallow became more and more famous in USA, it became used in a variety of food for afternoon tea, such as banana fluff and cakes.

Nowadays, there are different kinds of marshmellow with different kinds of shapes and flavor.
Also, there are lots of different ways of how to eat marshmallow. Some people put them in hot chocolate;some people dip the marshmallow with chocolate and other candies; and some people put them in ice cream or cake.
But my favorite way to eat the marshmallow is to roast the marshmallow. It taste a bit different with the other marshmallow, more soft and smells very good.
