Movie Review - Taken

Captivating, suspenseful, and exhilarating are only a few of the words that I could use to describe the excellent movie series “ Taken”. It was a very influential action movie since it came up in 2008, it was once named as the top movie during that time with lots of good evaluations from the audience and film critic.

The great action film "Taken" had set off a trend since it was released in 2008.

"Taken", starred by Liam John Neeson, Maggie Grace and some other famous actors , were talking about Bryan, a retired CIA office member, trying to save his daughter Kim from the nefarious kidnapper , who went on a trip to Paris with her friend. Bryan only had ninety-six hours to save his daughter before the bad guys sold Kim to the other country. Everyone knew that it would be a extremely dangerous and difficult journey for Bryan to flew to unfamiliar place and saved Kim out within the limited lime, but Bryan still decided to take this risk by himself. Without any support and clues, Bryan came to Paris and found out that his daughter was took away by the famous kidnapped organization. With With the hard work and fighting, struggle and persistence during the four days and nights, he finally found his daughter and saved her.

This movie shows the awesome martial arts, a lot of close combat, and a little speeding and gun battles. Every movement of the characters are very clear and vivid, even though it was a French movie, it makes the audience feel like they are actually watching some modern Hollywood movie. “Taken” also highlight a number of the issue during that time in the society such as the social harm, the relationship within a family, the dangers of a materialistic world and so on. It teaches about a lot of problems and social phenomenon during different parts of the movie or even in just a tiny action.

Certainly, my favorite character in this movie is Bryan, the main character. Bryan was a father who had already retired from his CIA position. He got divorced from his beloved wife and was been separated with his dear daughter Kim. Even though he and his daughter had already been separated for a period of time, he was still the one who cared about Kim the most. When Kim got kidnapped, he was the only one who chose to go and saved her and was also the one who didn’t sleep during the night worrying about Kim. One small action in the movie really touched me. One night when all the light outside had already turn off, Bryan was still trying to use his computer to find Kim’s location. As he worked, he rubbed his eyes, trying to keep himself awake. This action meant a lot, it showed that Bryan was not young anymore, he was getting older every day. It also showed that his daughter was really important to her, he cared about Kim much more than caring for himself. The great fatherly love and the persistence of Bryan was really something that made this movie even better.

The love between Bryan and his daughter really touched a lot of people's feeling.

The movie "Taken" and its second and third series also attracted a lot of people and got a lot of fame from the movie reviewers.

“ Taken” is really one of the many action movies that I really like and recommend. Even though different people might think differently about this movie, it will continue to be the best action movie in my heart.
